The Guardians

With croaking frogs
and jambu trees
we share moonlight, fruit
and flies.

With bamboo flutes
we call upon
celestial lords with powers
to come.

And we fall down
on the floor
like
sticks.

The guardians sit
on lotus thrones
and slap their arms
and thighs.

The nagas swim
in seas of milk
and never ending
noise.
